Bois-des-Esprits
Where is it? 650 Shorehill Dr., Winnipeg, Manitoba
What hike should I do? The Seine River Greenway is a 3.7 km trail with the added bonus of wood carvings to hunt down.
Can I bring my dog? Leashed pets are welcome!
Assiniboine Forest
Where is it? 2595 Roblin Blvd, Winnipeg, MB
What hike should I do? Start with the Sagimay trail and choose your own adventure from there.
Can I bring my dog? Yes, but keep it leashed at all times.
Fort Whyte Alive
Where is it? 1961 McCreary Rd, Winnipeg, MB
What hike should I do? You can’t go wrong here with 7 km of trails through aspen forest, lakes and prairie.
Can I bring my dog? Pets are not allowed on site due to the diverse range of wild and farmed animals on site.
Kings Park
Where is it? 198 Kings Dr., Winnipeg, MB
What hike should I do? More of a walk than a hike, the Kings Park loop is 3.5 km and can be done with a stroller.
Can I bring my dog? Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash on the trails. An off-leash dog park is also available.
Sturgeon Creek Park
Where is it? 596 Cavalier Dr., Winnipeg, MB
What hike should I do? The 4 km trail isn’t a loop so you might be looking at 8 km if you want to complete it and make it back to your vehicle, but the biodiversity is well worth it!
Can I bring my dog? Dogs are welcome on leash.
